Patrizia Catalano

Biography

Architect and journalist, Patrizia Catalano coordinated the design section of IO Donna (Corriere della Sera) and has written for leading publications such as AD France, The World of Interiors and Marie Claire Netherland. Since 2005, she has been working with INTERNI magazine, coordinating its annual edition and international events in New York, London and Paris.

Author of several books of interiors published for Electa, Damiani Arte, Mondadori Arte, Rizzoli Italia, Rizzoli New York, she founded HoperAperta in 2019, curating exhibitions for Milan Design Week and collaborating with institutions like Municipality of Milan, Fondazione Giovanni Segantini, Fondazione Paolo Grassi and the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025. 

In 2023, she was Ambassador of Italian Design Day in Bern and presented as moderator the Italian Design Day 2023 at the Farnesina, headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

She has been co-curator for «Design Beyond Things», the first European design exhibition promoted by the European Union and presented at the EU Pavilion in Osaka, Japan. She promoted and conceived an event for GENS La Biennale Architecture in Venice and is currently collaborating with HoperAperta and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on a theme related to sustainability.

She lives and works in Milan, Italy.
