Frédéric Monteverde

Frederic Monteverde is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Science, Technology and Sustainability for Ceramics (ISSMC) of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). He earned a degree in Physics from the University of Bologna in 1990 and obtained a permanent position at ISSMC-CNR in 1994. His research focuses on the synthesis, processing, characterization and properties of structural ceramics, with particular emphasis on ultra-high temperature ceramics. He has authored more than 90 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has delivered several presentations, including invited talks, on his research activities. As Senior Researcher at ISSMC, he serves as Principal Investigator (PI) of R&D research projects and contracts. His scientific expertise includes the design, production and study of structural ceramics for harsh environments; the characterization of degradation phenomena in structural ceramics exposed to highly aggressive temperature conditions, such as aerothermal heating; the development of self-healing ceramics and composites; the design, production and study of ultra-refractory high-entropy ceramics; and the design, production and study of high-entropy ceramics for catalysis.
